The Story of Daisy
This is the story about the adventures of a little calf called Daisy. Daisy lived on a dairy farm with her mum Tulip and all of the other dairy cows and her dad Benji the big bull who lived over in the next paddock.
It was fun being a cow in fact it was the best! Daisy loved running around the paddock with her friends, munching hay, mooing in the farmer’s face and annoying him,and having a staring competition with anybody and they would always lose.Daisy was very cute, she loved to run around the paddock and jump up and down when her friend Emma the farmer’s daughter came with food. When night came Daisy would go to her bed.Her bed was made out of hay and grass for her. It was the comfiest bed you could ever sleep on.
One day when she was exploring around the fence Daisy spotted a beautiful tree with purple flowers and the tree was covered with orange monarch butterflies.Daisy was fascinated when one of the butterflies landed on her nose. Daisy was excited and jumped a little so the butterfly flew towards the gate and Daisy followed it.To her surprise the gate was opened a little so Daisy nudged it with her nose and skipped out and chased the butterfly into the forest.
The butterfly started to fly upwards into the trees. Daisy felt a cold breeze and looked around she didn't know were she was she got scared and lay down next to a big safe tree. While she was sitting there she watched as the fat kereru plopped from branch to branch and the little piwakawaka flittered around her. Some little ants and wood lice came to see what Daisy was doing, but the big brown weka scared them off.
When it started to get dark Daisy began to feel really nervous and afraid.Suddenly she thought she heard a familiar voice calling her name ”Daisy! Daisy! Daisy!”.Daisy looked around and saw a big bright light in the distance. She jumped up with excitement as Emma came running towards her and gave her a big hug and said “I missed you so much Daisy”.The farmer gently carried Daisy onto the trailer at the back of the farm bike and drove slowly back to the farm.Tulip was so pleased to see her little calf safe and sound and MOOOOed with happiness!
